How reviews work
Who can write reviews
Anyone with a free account and a confirmed email. Each account can have one review per place (which can be updated). Before publishing, people confirm they are describing their own experience, have no connection with the business and received nothing in return.
How we check reviews
Every review is read by our team before it is published. We look for signs of fake reviews (accounts created in bulk, repeated text, links to the business) and reject anything that breaks the rules. We do not confirm the purchase or stay in every case, so reviews reflect the opinion of whoever wrote them.
What we don't do
- We don't remove reviews for being negative, or at a business's request.
- We don't accept payment to publish, hide or rank reviews.
- We don't change the text of reviews (we only remove personal data or links).
How the rating is calculated
Each place's rating is the simple average of all published reviews. When sorting by “highest rated”, places with few reviews are pulled towards the overall average, so a single 5-star review doesn't rank above dozens of very good ones.
Owners
The people in charge of each business can claim it for free, reply publicly to reviews and update its details. They cannot review their own business.
Reports
Any member can report a review. We look at every report and remove reviews that break the rules.
